Chaldean compound numbers 10–52

In Chaldean numerology the full total of a name, such as 23, has its own meaning before it is reduced to a single digit. These are Cheiro's readings.

How compound numbers work

In the Chaldean system every letter of a name is added into one total before it is reduced. Cheiro held that this double-digit total, the compound number, carries its own meaning, which colours the single digit underneath. A name totalling 23 is read first as 23 and then as 5.

Of the 43 compounds Cheiro describes, 16 are favourable in his reading, 10 are mixed and 17 carry a warning. Several share a reading with another number; those pages point to the full entry.

Compounds apply to dates as well: the day of the month from the 10th onwards is a compound, and so is the total of all the digits of a date. Each page shows how often its number appears as a whole-date total, which common first names reach it, and how adding a single letter changes it.
