Single digits, master numbers and compounds
Numerology reduces most totals to a single digit from 1 to 9, and each digit has its own character. Western (Pythagorean) numerology stops early at 11, 22 and 33, the master numbers, when they come up as a total; they are read as stronger versions of 2, 4 and 6. Indian practice and Cheiro's Chaldean method always reduce to one digit, so for a Mulank or Bhagyank, 11 counts as 2.
Cheiro also reads the double-digit total before it is reduced. A name adding up to 26 is read as compound 26 first, then as 8. All 43 of his readings are on the compound numbers page.
Where each number comes from
- From your name: the Expression (all letters), Soul Urge (vowels) and Personality (consonants), using the name numerology chart.
- From your date of birth: the Life Path and Bhagyank (every digit) and the Mulank or Birthday number (the day). See Life Path numbers and birthday numbers.
- From things you choose: a mobile, house or vehicle number reduced the same way.
The meaning of a number is the same wherever it appears; what changes is the part of life it describes. Work out all your numbers.
