Missing number 3 in the Lo Shu grid
70.3% of birth dates have no 3
Where 3 sits on the grid
Middle left, on the emotional row and the thought column. Read as memory, imagination and planning.
What a missing 3 is read as
Planning ahead and remembering details may need structure. Teachers read a missing number as a quality to develop consciously, not as a lack; readings differ between them.
Working with it
Practical habit: write plans down and keep a calendar rather than relying on memory.
When 3 repeats instead
If 3 appears several times, readers describe a vivid imagination that can run ahead of facts.
How common it is
Of all dates from 1940 to 2019, 70.3% have no 3 anywhere in the date; it is one of the most often missing numbers.
Examples:
- 10 January 1975: digits 1 1 1 9 7 5, no 3.
- 11 January 1975: digits 1 1 1 1 9 7 5, no 3.
- 12 January 1975: digits 1 2 1 1 9 7 5, no 3.
Lines that include 3
A missing 3 leaves these lines incomplete: Emotional plane, Thought plane.
Can it be filled?
Some Indian practitioners add the Mulank and Bhagyank to the grid; if either is 3, the cell is filled. Others do not, and the tool lets you choose. Changing a name does not change the grid, which comes only from the date.
