Challenge number 3
Expressing yourself rather than holding back.
Challenge 3
Expressing yourself rather than holding back.
It relates to the qualities of 3: expression, creativity, sociability. The challenge is to develop them without overdoing them.
How it shows up
It often shows up as holding back ideas or scattering them. Working with it: share one finished piece at a time.
The 3 challenge is about expression. Some people with it hold back ideas for fear of judgement; others talk about plans without finishing them. Both come from the same place: uncertainty about whether what you make is good enough. Finishing and sharing small pieces, regularly, builds the confidence that the challenge is asking for.
How a challenge 3 arises
Challenges subtract parts of the birth date, each reduced to a single digit (masters too): month and day, day and year, the first two challenges, then month and year. A difference of 3 comes from pairs such as 4 and 1, 5 and 2, 6 and 3, 7 and 4, 8 and 5, 9 and 6.
How common it is
Of all dates from 1940 to 2019, 14.0% have 3 as the first challenge, and 14.2% as the third, main challenge, which Decoz says lasts throughout life.
