Challenge 4
Patience with routine and detail.
It relates to the qualities of 4: order, steadiness, hard work. The challenge is to develop them without overdoing them.
How it shows up
It often shows up as impatience with routine or detail. Working with it: break work into small, regular steps.
The 4 challenge is about patience with work that has no shortcut. Routine, paperwork and detail can feel like a cage, and the temptation is to skip steps. The lesson is that structure frees you later: a budget, a schedule or a checklist removes the worry that comes from things left undone.
How a challenge 4 arises
Challenges subtract parts of the birth date, each reduced to a single digit (masters too): month and day, day and year, the first two challenges, then month and year. A difference of 4 comes from pairs such as 5 and 1, 6 and 2, 7 and 3, 8 and 4, 9 and 5.
How common it is
Of all dates from 1940 to 2019, 11.8% have 4 as the first challenge, and 10.6% as the third, main challenge, which Decoz says lasts throughout life.
