Missing number 5 in the Lo Shu grid
65.0% of birth dates have no 5
Where 5 sits on the grid
The centre, on four lines at once. Read as balance and the link between thought and action.
What a missing 5 is read as
Balance between plans and feelings may need attention. Teachers read a missing number as a quality to develop consciously, not as a lack; readings differ between them.
Working with it
Practical habit: build in a short break between thinking and acting, then act.
When 5 repeats instead
If 5 appears several times, readers describe strong drive that benefits from direction.
How common it is
Of all dates from 1940 to 2019, 65.0% have no 5 anywhere in the date; it is one of the most often missing numbers.
Examples:
- 10 January 1988: digits 1 1 1 9 8 8, no 5.
- 11 January 1988: digits 1 1 1 1 9 8 8, no 5.
- 12 January 1988: digits 1 2 1 1 9 8 8, no 5.
Lines that include 5
A missing 5 leaves these lines incomplete: Emotional plane, Will plane, Golden Yog (4-5-6), Silver Yog (2-5-8).
Can it be filled?
Some Indian practitioners add the Mulank and Bhagyank to the grid; if either is 5, the cell is filled. Others do not, and the tool lets you choose. Changing a name does not change the grid, which comes only from the date.
