Kua 5 has no directions of its own
Five sits at the centre of the Lo Shu square, which is why the Eight Mansions system sends it to another house. Men follow Kua 2 and women Kua 8 for directions and placements.
The Kua formula can produce 5, but the Eight Mansions system has no 5 house, so the common rule reassigns it: a man with Kua 5 uses Kua 2, a woman uses Kua 8. Both are in the West group.
