The 8 challenge is about money and status. It can show as worry about having enough, or as measuring yourself by position and possessions. The lesson is proportion: earning and managing well while remembering what the money is for. Setting your own definition of enough is the usual turning point.
How a challenge 8 arises
Challenges subtract parts of the birth date, each reduced to a single digit (masters too): month and day, day and year, the first two challenges, then month and year. A difference of 8 comes from pairs such as 9 and 1.
How common it is
Of all dates from 1940 to 2019, 2.7% have 8 as the first challenge, and 0.6% as the third, main challenge, which Decoz says lasts throughout life.
